A property-flipping competition with a twist involving hauling the house to a new location.
Three teams of hard working Texas real estate entrepreneurs compete head-to-head in a fast-paced and thrilling real estate flipping competition. Our flippers are under the gun to buy low, work fast and sell high. But they have one major hurdle to overcome, when they buy a house at auction, they have to move it off the property that day, a task that can be downright dangerous. Once the house is moved to their lot, it's a race against time to get it renovated and ready for auction. Who will turn the biggest profit? Who will gamble it all and lose big? Who will destroy their house mid-move? And who will get their chops busted by their annoying rivals?
Old houses get new addresses as three families compete to truck them away and flip them for profit.
A house on Foster Drive in Lake Worth, Texas, is a quaint stone-clad house with a small addition. Both the Slays and Randy like it. The Slays think it will make a nice hunting cabin while Randy believes he can make money just selling the stone. The Snows think it is more work than it's worth. The bidding gets nasty between the Slays and Randy, but Cody and Suzi eventually win it. Before it can be moved, though, Cody will have to sweat it out and hack off the stone facade by hand. During the renovation, Cody and Suzi butt heads when she wants to add some of her special glam touches to the cabin and Cody wants to make it a manly space. Another house on Huron Trail in Lake Worth is a two bedroom 1960s era house in need of a significant renovation. Only half of the house is salvageable and all the electrical must be replaced. Since Randy can do that kind of work himself, he's much more interested in the house than either of the Snows or Slays. Randy gets the house at a relatively low price. When the Snow sisters heckle Randy about his design and decorating abilities, he hires designer Travis Lewis to help him out. There is tension between Randy and Travis when it is clear Randy wants to save every penny and not spend much on the design. Randy decides to surprise Travis with a unique decoration that he found.
Up for auction: a charming historic home on Main Street in Haslet, Texas, which was the area telephone operator's original headquarters. The Snow Sisters think it is adorable even though it is a 'T' shape, which means a more complicated moving process. They make no secret of their excitement about the house, as they feel Gary and Daddy can handle the move. Randy is lukewarm about it, but is interested only if the price is right. The Slays are divided: Suzi loves the house, but Cody is adamant that it would be too complicated to move. They eventually decide to pass. During the auction, it looks like Donna has it all but won when the high price forces Randy to drop out, but Suzi jumps in at the last second and the price continues to climb. Cody does everything he can to stop Suzi from bidding, and their argument leaves an opening for Donna Snow to jump in and win the auction. The Snows' plan is to cut the house in half and move it in two pieces, then decorate the house with a nod to the original style. In Weatherford, Texas, an attractive ranch is up for auction that appeals to all of the movers, but especially Randy. As the price climbs the Snows drop out, followed by the Slays. It finally gets too rich for Randy's blood and he drops out, leaving the win to an architectural salvage company owner. Randy ends up empty-handed and sour about losing the house to an outsider.
Randy wins an old schoolhouse in Lake Worth for a song, but discovers that the inside has nothing: no toilet, no kitchen, just an empty room. At first he wants to tear it down, but he then decides to transform it by vaulting the ceiling and creating a loft space, bath, and kitchen. Donna stops by to give Randy some grief, and spots a storage container on his lot. She bets him that she could make more money flipping the container than he will make on his house. Donna gets her sister and Suzi Slay to join in on the 'Randy Revenge.' The girls band together to turn a steel container into a cozy home reflecting their different styles, but that's easier said than done.
Cody Slay wins a house in White Settlement for $500, which he believes has mostly cosmetic problems. When he and Suzi tour the interior, their hearts sink: it is a disaster. Casey refuses to move the house, but Cody wants to lift it himself to save his investment. That is when disaster strikes. Meanwhile, Randy wins a sweet little house in excellent condition on the exterior but with a big surprise inside. If he can completely transform the bizarre feature walls, old carpeting and outdated kitchen, this house can turn a pretty profit at auction time.
The Snow sisters score a little cottage that needs a lot of TLC. Donna thinks they should pass on the sad little house because it is in bad shape, but Toni thinks it is an ugly duckling that will turn into a beautiful swan. Once the house is moved, the sisters find inspiration and give the kitchen a 1950s feel. Randy starts out with money in his pocket when he grabs a little box house addition that he was paid $500 to haul away. He puts the house on a trailer and turns it into a hip movable house that will attract interest at auction. There is bound to be a lot of competition between these two small houses on auction day.
Cody and Suzi Slay win a house that has great potential, but the post-auction tour reveals the house was in the middle of being renovated. The Slays are excited by the potential return on investment, despite a weird layout that has no usable closets but does have a large open space in the middle of the house. Suzi decides to have Cody build a luxury walk-in closet modeled after her closet at home. All of the house movers know that a certain home in Forth Worth has been vacant for ages, which usually means the interior is trashed. The Snow sisters win the house at auction, and are elated to find that the interior is in fantastic condition. This means they can make a big profit on a quick and easy flip.
