They had already contacted every cruise company they could find, asking for a spot—without success. They knew no one in Ushuaia. They weren’t qualified to work on a ship. They were exhausted after three relentless months of travel. Their budget was tight, survival in Ushuaia came with limited options for free food and shelter, and the clock was ticking.
