A policewoman is doing her best at the job, but struggles to be there for her son.
Anna Pihl begins as a new cop on the station Bellahøj in Copenhagen and not many minutes passes before she becomes involved in a showdown between chef Rune Strandberg and his ex-wife who uses a restraining order to put pressure on Rune. Anna and her colleague Mikala tries hard to get Rune to comply with the restraining order. Anna realises that the ex-wife's whereabouts, namely her jealousy, are the reason she and Rune are not together anymore. All of a sudden, the police is notified about Rune going berserk, and when Anna and Mikala trying to arrest him Mikala gets stabbed and Rune takes off. Anna Pursues Rune to his restaurant, where Rune threatens to blow himself and the restaurant to pieces. Anna, however, goes against orders to get him out and she manages to get him arrested.
After the stabbing of Mikala Anna needs a new colleague. Tthe experienced Kim becomes her new partner. They are called out to an Arab family whose daughter, Jamil, sais she has been beaten on the way home. Kim acts disrespectfully and takes no action in the case because he believes it's a typical clash in the family. His handling of the case results in Anna no longer wanting to team up with Kim. After Kim helps her through a car accident she ponders about keeping him as a partner. Anna, questioning the opinion of Kim regarding the Jamile case, begins her own investigation. She finds out that Jamile has lied to her family. t appears that Jamile was beaten up by Tanya for having slept with Tanya's boyfriend. After Anna is informed that Jamile, yet another time, is beaten by Tanya she alerts Kim and Tanya gets arrested. Meanwhile, Anna's father, Henning, becomes introverted after his wife's death. Anna tries to get him back on track. His past attracts interest from a publisher who wants to publish his memoirs. At the station Martin flirts with Anna. When visits Martin unannounced, she is met by a woman, Laura, who introduces herself as his girlfriend.
Anna and Kim are sent out to an apartment where they find a dead obese woman. Eva is called out to the apartment and agrees to Anna's suspicions regarding foul play. Anna starts a parallel investigation and a friend of the deceased woman becomes a suspect. Mikala is back at the station again after the stabbing but has developed mental issues after the trauma.
A dog has run into a bus and Anna manages to get it out again. When she and Kim bring it back to the owner suspicions of animal cruelty arise. Eva believes, however, they have no case judicially. After a political dimension is added, Eva finds herself required to file a case against the owner of dog.

De bliver uvenner, og Anna går, men pludselig er tasken med pistolen væk.
Anna Pihl melder sig som lokkedue, så de kan få fat på voldtægtsmanden, der nu også har dræbt Martins ekskæreste, Laura. Anna skal gå rundt i gaderne tæt fulgt af politiet i håbet om at voldtægtsmanden viser sig, men der sker intet. Samtidig har Mikala været væk i 2 uger, og nu vil vagthavende gerne vide, hvor hun er henne. Anna ringer til hende, og pludselig dukker hun op på stationen, men da hun ingen pistol har, må hun låne Annas. Der går dog ikke lang tid, før hun kontaktes af en, der har hende pistol, men han vil kun give hende den, hvis han får noget til gengæld. Voldtægtsmanden har dog holdt øje med politiet, og da Anna skal besøge Martin, som nu officielt er hendes kæreste, overfaldes hun af voldtægtsmanden - Til sit held har hun en ulovlig peberspray med i tasken, som pacificerer ham, og samtidig kommer Martin hende til undsætning, så voldtægtsmanden kan anholdes.
Kim anholder Annas bror, Mads, for spirituskørsel, men overlader sagen til Anna, der vælger at give ham kørekortet tilbage uden at skrive sagen. I mellemtiden finder Anna ud af, at Mads er blevet fyret fra sit arbejde, og at han har et alkohol- og pillemisbrug, og pludselig er han igen ude og køre spirituskørsel - denne gang rammer han en cyklist, som dør. Samtidig er Mikala blevet trukket ind i en ubehagelig sag. Stavro, som gav hende pistolen igen, vil have hende til at levere oplysninger til hans kriminelle netværk som tak for hjælpen, og Mikala har ikke anden mulighed end at gøre som han siger. Imens forsøger Annas udlejer, Jan, der er bøsse, at få et barn med en lesbisk mor, men han finder ud af, at det ikke er helt så let, som han regnede med.
Mads er flyttet ind hos Anna efter ulykken, men han er ikke helt let at have med at gøre. Pludselig opsøges Anna af familien til den dræbte cyklist, der vil møde Mads, men det vil han ikke. Til sidst bliver det for meget for Anna, der sender ham ned til sin far. Samtidig opsøges Mikala af Stavro, der vil have oplysninger om, hvem der tipper politiet om narkohandel. I mellemtiden er Martin blevet flyttet til en civilgruppe, hvilket Mikala udnytter til at få oplysningerne til Stavro. Pludselig er meddeleren blevet dræbt, men det afholder ikke Mikala fra at indlede en affære med Stavro.
Mikala vil ikke have noget med Stavro at gøre efter drabet på en politimeddeler, og det har han forståelse for, men så kan han ikke beskytte hende længere, og pludselig opsøges hendes børn i hjemmet. Det tør Mikala alligevel ikke, så hun genoptager sit hemmelige forhold til Stavro, hvilket sætter skår i hendes ægteskab med Thomas. Da Karen ankommer til stationen med en cykeltyv, som Anna og Kim tidligere har været i kontakt med, blomstrer romantikken. Kim synes, cykeltyven er meget sød, og ringer efterfølgende til hende for at få en date. Der skal være fodboldkamp i Parken, og Bellahøj stiller med mandskab til at sikre ro og orden. Martin har fået Mikala med i civilpatruljen, der skal holde ro på lægterne, mens Anna og Kim er del af beredskabet. I spisepausen mødes Anna og Martin på bænken, hvor Martin viser hende, hvad han har købt til Mikkel - En policeforce-helikopter, som er hans største ønske. Samtidig aftaler de at mødes om aftenen efter kampen. Pludselig sker der dog noget, som ændrer deres planer drastisk. Da Martin vil tale med en mand, som muligvis har noget med drabet på politimeddeleren at gøre, bliver han stukket ned for øjnene af Anna og Mikala. Gerningsmanden flygter derfra, mens Mikala bare ser til - Det er Stavros håndlanger.
Anna og Mikala skal lave en fantom-tegning af den mand, som stak Martin ned i Parken, men Mikala er bange for at hendes forbindelse til Stavro vil blive afsløret, hvis hans håndlager, Zoran, fanges. Hun sørger derfor for, at tegningen overhovedet ikke kommer til at ligne Zoran. Hun ombestemmer sig dog, at hun kan se, hvor ked af det Anna er. Der går ikke lang tid fra den rigtige tegning er blevet udsendt, til Zoran bliver sporet ved havnen. Politiets Aktionsstyrke gennemsøger en båd, som han skulle befinde sig på, men han er der ikke. Pludselig ser Anna ham dog, og med Kims hjælp, får Zoran ikke lov at slippe. Da Zoran bliver bragt ind på stationen, lykkedes det ham at tage Mikala som gidsel og forskanse sig i våbenrummet. Anna snakker og forhandler med Zoran, mens aktionsstyrken er på vej, men da Zoran begynder at antyde, at han ved noget om Mikalas ulovligheder, griber hun et gevær og skyder ham. Mens Martin kommer til sig selv på hospitalet efter flere operationer, har Anna gjort det så godt som forhandler, at hun bliver tilbudt en plads i politiets forhandler-gruppe. Samtidig har Mads langt om længe besluttet sig for at tage ansvar i sin spiritus-sag. Også får Mikala at vide, at Stavro er rejst fra Danmark.
