Azul no Azul

Azul no Azul is the result of the encounter between painter Nelson Ferreira and filmmaker Gianmarco Donaggio. Blue is the liminal space where the motion traverses the static, painting meets cinema, and dynamic tension liberates dreams. Blue, in the film, is not a statement nor a colour, but rather the emergence of a feeling. An empty canvas for the viewer to engage within the contraction and expansion of the light flux.

Milano di carta

The work has been created for the IAR international video art exhibition at palazzo Fondi in Napoli, and it was filmed and produced at Via Farini - Vir artist in residency in Milano. The film wishes to investigate a potential contemporary condition of suspension in which western-society has fallen into. The artist by assembling a unique optical device has explored the microscopic dimension of billboard paper and projected it back onto its given urban environments. The result is an atmospheric work in which the micro confronts the macro in a sequence of urban projections where by means of juxtaposition of perspectives reality results as partially suspended.

Eyüp cannot be sure about the woman he finds behind the blue door, whether it is his aunt or not because they can't understand each other.

Return is a methodical construction of the approach of an individual towards an unseen goal, which assumes metaphorical significance. Viola moves toward the camera/viewer, pausing every few steps to ring a bell, at which point he is momentarily thrust back to his starting place, and then advanced again. Finally reaching his destination, he is taken through all of the previous stages in a single instant and returned to the source of his journey.

Only in their most intimate moments, they are overwhelmed by desperate helplessness.
