Das Capital is an envisioning of rural north India and sets the canvas for the protagonist – Purshottam Ram played by Yashpal Sharma who is torn between his duties toward his family, his corrupt employers and a corrupt political system. The plot employs dramatic performances by a stellar cast including that of Pratibha Sharma, Jameel Khan, K.K. Raina, Ravi Jhankal, Manoj Pahwa, Seema Pahwa, Anupam Shyam, Rajpal Yadav among others who form a part of the ensemble and seamlessly bring forth the characters that form vital ingredients in the film. “Das Capital - Gulamon Ki Rajdhani”, a film that was envisioned in the 90s, scripted over a couple of decades, shot in 2012 is releasing for viewing on OTT Platform – Cinemapreneur. The film is the labour of love of renowned and celebrated Indian cinematographer Rajen Kothari who passed away in 2012 soon after the film was shot.

Love and the First Railroad

'Love and the First Railway' is what this movie's title would mean in English. This is one of those films that depicts fictional characters participating in an historic incident. The actual first railway was built in England, of course. But according to this movie, the first railway (in Germany, at least) was built from Berlin to Potsdam, in 1838. I haven't the faintest idea if that's correct, but the people who made this movie do seem to take a great deal of interest in historical accuracy, so I'll take their word for it. Anyway, a title at the beginning establishes that this movie is set in 1838.

Children of the Fall

Rachel Strode, a young immigrant with a dark secret in her past, comes to Israel in the Fall of 1973 to volunteer in a Kibbutz and then to convert to Judaism. Soon, she realizes that the local Kibbutz members don't seem to like strangers and foreigners, and that the evening of Yom Kippur (the most important holiday for Jews), will bring danger to her and her young volunteering friends. What begins as a time of fun and the celebration of youth turns into a menacing and bloody night of terror, which will give a new meaning to Yom Kippur of 1973.
